It’s been about 2 years since I have even touched my blog. This post will be pretty long, and I’m going to try my best to summarize the past 2 years of our life, so let’s play catch-up:
September 2015-J.Michael and I were newly-wed, living in our 2 bedroom apartment together on the other side of the city. I had launched a blog to keep in touch with family members that didn’t live nearby so they could see what we were up to. Shortly after I started the new blog, I started getting really sick, like in bed for days sick. Between food sensitivities, reproductive issues, and picking up everything my preschool class would catch, I had to stay home and rest most days. We thought early on I could have been pregnant but had taken a few tests in December of 2015, and they all came back negative.
Fast forward: March 2016- I was still getting sick ALL the time-we speculated it was just diet and I tried to avoid certain foods. My husband suggested that I take a pregnancy test, but I brushed him off thinking that they would be negative like the last two. We were still fresh into our marriage and while we knew we wanted kids, we didn’t plan on having them until years down the road.
I picked a test up while at the store and before taking it I remember praying “Lord, I trust in your plans for our lives”. This was the ONLY test out of the three I had prayed out loud for. Three minutes felt like forever, and I casually looked at it thinking it was going to be negative. I looked and, PINK LINES! (we took another one after this just to be 100%).
April 2016-We had our first pre-natal appointment on Good Friday, and sure enough, there was a little heartbeat in my belly. Talk about one of the most amazing sounds I’ve ever heard. We were so excited to walk into this new season of life and dreamed of what our sweet baby would be like.
May-2016- We moved into a home closer to our families to help out with the new baby. We also found out we were expecting a sweet baby boy!
September 2016- FIRST ANNIVERSARY!
November 16th 2016- Reed Owen Terrell was born and we became a official family of 3! We went into Christmas time and the new year figuring out our new season of life.
May 2017- We decided that for OUR family, me staying home with Reed was the best decision, so that is where I am at now!
So there is rundown of the big events that have happened in the past year or so. There have been so many little blessings hidden in between but I will save those for another time. Thanks for stopping by if this is your first time, or if you are following from the previous blog, thanks for joining us again!
